New Season Ahead: Travel, Challenges and Momentum
The 2026 season is almost here and it’s going to look a little different for Berlin CC.
A different kind of season
The biggest change is the loss of the pitch in Werder. That means fewer home matches and more time on the road this year.
Werder has given us some great memories – big scores, tight finishes, long days in the field, bbqs and the odd dramatic collapse. Losing a ground is never ideal but it’s part of the reality this season.

Goodbye Werder. Thanks for the wins. Thanks for the BBQs. Sorry you were never taken care of you properly.
Bundesliga begins – away days ahead

Our 1st XI start the season in the Bundesliga and that means some serious away travel. We’ll be playing matches in:
- Darmstadt
- Karlsruhe
- Freising
- Kiel
That’s a proper spread across Germany and it sets the tone early. Long journeys, strong opposition and high standards from the first ball.
You can find the full list of fixtures on our website at berlincc.de.
New sponsor, new standard
The Deutscher Cricket Bund has a new sponsor: Gray-Nicolls.
This season we’ll be using high quality Gray-Nicolls match balls across competitions. That’s a significant step forward for the standard of cricket in Germany.

For bowlers, it means real opportunity.
For batters, it means focus from ball one.
It should also mean fewer broken bats.
Better equipment raises the level for everyone and we’re looking forward to it.
AGM and awards ceremony
Last Sunday we held our AGM followed by the annual awards ceremony. It was a positive and constructive evening with strong attendance and good discussion about the year ahead.
A big thank you to the committee for their continued work behind the scenes and to everyone who attended and contributed.
The awards were a great reminder of the performances, effort and commitment shown throughout last season.

the ODCV Regional trophy to 1st XI captain, Awais.

It may be a season with fewer fixtures and more kilometres but the objective stays the same: compete hard, improve every week and represent Berlin CC properly wherever we play.
Bundesliga cricket. New balls. Long roads.
Let’s get started. 🏏
